Alessia Cara
At the age of 19, she published her first debut single Here. The song received praise both by music critics as well as listeners. It peaked at number 19 on the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in 2015. She released her debut Know It All album in the same year. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks which reached the top of the charts on Billboard as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. The track in question was unique due to her interview with Rap-Up many listeners related to her journey of self-doubt, and her journey to learn how to be a better person. Cara has a reputation for her messages on the importance of mental health, kindness and love of self in her music. The inspiration for her music is drawn from her own personal experiences as she been battling mental health issues as well as insomnia. In a Reuters interview, she's described her album half tumultuous but half perfected. Therapy has helped her develop and encourages people to try it too. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11, 1996. Her parents gave her a brand-new guitar that she was able to use to further develop her passion for music. She began to cover her favourite songs at age 13, to prove to everyone that she had the skills and the determination required to be a singer. In fact, one of the covers Sweater Weather got her noticed by a record label named EP Entertainment which allowed her to compose and record the songs.
